Friday, September 29, 7:00 PM – Jazz Journey Around the World

The festival kicks off with a Jazz Journey Around the World with the remarkable multilingual Allison Adams Tucker. Each stop on the tour will feature a different group of elite musicians backing up Allison who will sing songs in Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, English and Japanese! Allison is an authentic and versatile artist of power and grace who can both bring it on or melodically soothe. In keeping with the Harmony and Motion tradition of featuring live music with live dance, some of Allison’s numbers will also showcase choreographed segments performed by exceedingly talented dance artists.

Saturday, September 30, 2:00 PM & 6:00 PM – Unique Shows

On Saturday 12 different music and dance groups will perform. Two unique shows at 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm (featuring 6 groups each) will showcase diverse performing traditions from around the world. All of the groups represent the very best talent in San Diego within the cultural genres they honor. Groups include Naruwan Taiko, Omo Ace, the Ostrich Ensemble, Samahan, the Benedetti/Svboda Duo, Besos de Coco, Gloria Lanuza, Shalini Patnaik, Cajuina with Forró San Diego, Kembang Sunda Gamelan, Ballet Folklorico Aztlan, and the Dornob Collective.  If you have ever seen any of these groups perform, you know how fabulous they are and we are bringing them all together for a show like no other!
