Hannes Kling

Schools Program Assistant Director

Hannes Kling is a seasoned arts administrator with extensive experience in developing music education programs and producing concerts.

After earning a BA in Music Technology from UC San Diego, Hannes entered the field of concert and cultural event production management. During 12 years as production and education manager for the La Jolla Music Society, he elevated the quality of their staged performances and led their music education initiatives. In this role, he built strategic partnerships with the San Diego Unified School District’s Visual and Performing Arts Department, the San Diego Youth Symphony, and other allied organizations to inspire a new generation of musicians and music enthusiasts. Hannes believes music and dance cannot be fully appreciated in isolation and encourages artists to enrich every performance with history, geography, and cultural context, thus fostering connections across borders.

Through his later work in scenic design, Hannes expanded his technical expertise, earning multiple Emmy awards and industry accolades. In his free time, he explores his creative passions, including photography, lighting design, and playing piano in a folk band.
